NEC orders NNPC, NPDC, FIRS, Customs, others to refund N8trn unremitted fund ABUJA – THE National Economic Council, NEC, Thursday, directed the federal government revenue agencies like the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporations, NNPC, Nigerian Petroleum Development Companies, NDPC, Nigerian Custom Service, Nigerian Ports Authority among others to refund N526 billion and $21 billion which is about N8 trillion that was under-remitted to federation account. The NEC at its meeting presided over by the Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, received the final report of the forensic audit of the agencies conducted by the international firm, KPMG and observed that eighteen agencies did not remit the appropriate money to the nation’s treasury. A young Nigerian man was recently sentenced to one month imprisonment in Edo - According to reports, he was found guilty of offences bordering on fraudulent activities It is the end of the road for yet another face behind the internet fraud popularly known as 'yahoo yahoo', after he was arrested by the Benin Zonal officers of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission , EFCC, and convicted of his crimes. Identified as Ebi Obaro, the young man was convicted for offences bordering on fraudulent trick and attempting to obtain by false pretenses. According to reports, he presented himself as Donovan Macbeth Kelvin in his gmail account, to defraud victims on the internet. He pleaded guilty to the one count charge at the at the Federal High Court sitting in Benin City, Edo State.
